Jane Madden, Principal
Principal of Brickfielder Insights, Jane Madden, is a highly experienced senior executive with an outstanding international track record of leading large teams in multiple geographies, cultures and languages. She has led major government programs addressing complex challenges and requiring careful stakeholder management.
With over thirty years in Australia’s public sector and diplomatic service, Jane has held numerous senior leadership roles, and built a reputation for the highest professional standards and impeccable integrity.
Most recently she was Deputy Secretary in the Australian Government at Australia's trade and investment agency, Austrade.
She was Chief Operating Officer of the Digital Transformation Office and held senior roles within the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, and with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She has worked extensively overseas, including as Australian Ambassador to UNESCO, Deputy Ambassador to France and Counsellor in Japan.
Jane has demonstrated high-level leadership in Australia and overseas in public policy, international trade, diplomatic relations and business strategy.
She has a deep and current understanding of investment, technology, innovation and services, especially education and tourism. Jane has a passion for making a difference to our communities, with extensive not-for-profit board experience.
